Nationally-recognized singer/songwriters have donated their music to help spread TAO’s message of healing through the arts. All proceeds from CD sales benefit the organization. The CD release date was October 21, 2009.

TAO gratefully acknowledges the contributions of each of these artists, as well as the work of Hunter Hughes, the artwork of Debi Stadlin, Levi Tarr’s layout expertise and the efforts of board members Pamela Getty, Kelly Murphy and Cindy Mackey, without whom this CD would not be possible.

“Special Ones”is a CD produced by Tidewater Arts Outreach in 2007 to embody the musical spirit and artistic energy of the creative forces, mission and work of our new nonprofit. It was engineered by BJ Leiderman and includes original songs from a number of local and regional artists, including Julie Clark, Narissa Bond, Sonya Lorelle, Paddy Dougherty, Larry Berwald, Jimmy Masters, Mary Lou Osterhous, Linda Nelson, Lewis McGehee, Mercy Creek (Jim Ball and Cheryl Nystrom), Robbin Thompson and Big Wide Grin (Karl
Werne, Lawrence Lambert and Elaine Dempsey).

“When we created the CD, we asked our friends to contribute a song that would invoke a comfort, relaxation and empathy,” said MaryAnn Toboz. “We chose the CD title from Jimmy Master’s cut, as we think it speaks perfectly to our program recipients. The CD has a soothing, Sunday morning, acoustic quality, and creates a nice atmosphere for leisure and reflection.”

Proceeds from the CD will be used to raise funds and awareness for Tidewater Arts Outreach.
